FINAL EPISODE

FAITH, SUFFERING, AND HOPE

After five years of weekly episodes, this is a different kind of conversation.

In June 2025, Dave was diagnosed with stage IV esophageal cancer. This episode marks the final new episode of The Word for Everyday Disciples.

Instead of a sermon, Dave sits down with longtime friend and former colleague Clinton Faupel, co-founder of Remedy Live, to talk honestly about faith, suffering, and hope.

186 James: A Faith That Works, pt. 1

While we can easily overlook the apparent contradiction of proverbs by saying their interpretation depends on the context, the tension can be much harder to overlook when it’s in an area as fundamental as the doctrine of salvation.

185 James: Playing Favorites
185 James: Playing Favorites

James challenges us to be hearers and doers of God’s Word. If we fail to do so, we will eventually end up “being polluted by the world.” And one way that will be manifested is that we will speak and relate to others with prejudice and partiality.
