Coaching

Dave DeSelm leads online coaching groups for pastors.

In the coaching relationship, pastors and leaders have the opportunity to receive individualized, practical guidance from Dave on the issues they are facing in life and ministry. These one-on-one sessions offer a safe place to discuss some of the unique challenges you are facing with someone who’s a bit farther down the road of ministry.

Dave DeSelm Ministries also offers coaching groups, bringing the coaching relationship into the small group setting. It is a personal space where conversation can take place, relationships can be formed, and hope and help discovered.

Dave listened to each person in our coaching group to help understand and get to root causes of the challenges we faced. I’ve read books and gone to conferences on leadership development, but it was the coaching from Dave that brought clarity to the pace and place to develop leaders. We have a ways to go, but I see an amazing change in the life of my church.
— Steve Terry, Senior Pastor, New Life Church of God

WHAT A COACHING GROUP LOOKS LIKE

We have found that the group coaching environment can be both intimate and transformative. Everyone gets the chance to be heard. Each person’s story matters and is unpacked with care. We value confidentiality and vulnerability, allowing participants to share their unique circumstances without fear of judgment or reprisal.

DDM Coaching Groups will be led by Dave DeSelm and may have as many as 6 participants, but most groups will be smaller. The groups meet online for a one-hour video conference each week for a designated length of time. Because the coaching takes place over a period of months, there’s enough time for real life application.

One of the things I most appreciate about Dave is that he has a wealth of experience and knowledge but he leads with such a measure of humility. As he coaches leaders he brings his teaching gift right into the context of the leader and helps everyone around him grow in both character and effectiveness.
— Chris Norman, Team Leader, Grace Gathering

THE BENEFITS OF GROUP COACHING

  1. Peer Learning: We have found that many times learning from your peers is as valuable and important as interaction with the coach.

  2. A Network of Relationships: When you spend months together in a small group, sharing and learning together, you will build a new network of relationships that may become deep enough to last for years.

  3. A Chance to Imitate: Rather than simply downloading a lot of information to you and hoping you figure out how to put it into practice, coaching groups give you the chance to see it in action and imitate, an important aspect of discipling others. (1 Cor. 11:1)

  4. More Affordable: Group coaching is a more affordable way to gain access to professional coaching.

If I had been able to consult with a pastor of Dave’s quality and experience when I was young, it would have saved me a lot of headaches.
— Dr. Marcus Warner, President of Deeper Walk International

The Cost of Coaching

We understand that the cost of professional coaching can be prohibitive for many pastors. That’s why we want to make coaching as affordable as possible.

Because of the generosity of DDM’s partners, we are able to offer group or individual coaching on a sliding scale based on church size. Fees range from $35-100 a month for groups or per session for personal coaching. Most groups will run for 6 months with the option to extend.
